Sea Urchin
Sea Urchin Digestion
The Sea Urchin is an Echinoderms, which is composed of species of marine animals. The sea Urchins digestive system is not that complex, and unlike humans, there mouth is at the bottom of the body, and the anus is at the top. The structure of the Sea Urchins mouth in its digestive system is called Aristotles lantern, a commonly used term when biologists are talking about these animals. The teeth of Aristotles lantern, are used to scrape algea and kelp off rocks. Then after the food is in there mouth it goes through their esopagus, going into one of two parts of there stomach. First the food goes into the cardiac stomach, then the pyloric stomach, and then at the end of the digestion process, the waste goes through the anus, at the top of the sea Urchin.
